The beautiful and historic neighborhood of Allston is located in the city of Boston, which is part of Suffolk County in Massachusetts.  Allston's population is 21,485 as of the 2000 census estimate.  Allston has its historical roots with and shares being administered by the neighborhood of Brighton and the two are often referred to together as "Allston-Brighton".  Allston offers an upscale and favorable business climate and most of the homes were built between 1890 and 1920.  This community is a great place to work and live with a wide variety of activities and amenities for residents.  Excellent restaurants, quality nightlife, good schools and pristine parks and recreation abound in this diverse neighborhood.


Most notably, much of Harvard University’s main campus is located in Allston. Further, the neighborhood is divided into sections, the most notable being Lower Allston.  A large part of Harvard University lies in this area.  This small neighborhood is noted for being upscale and very safe.  It is not overly populated with students and the area retains much of its historical charm.  Harvard owns quite a bit of land in Lower Allston and has plans to be an auxiliary site for Harvard Medical School.  From long-term residents to working professionals to college students, Allston as a varied mix of people living in harmony and working together as a community dedicated to a higher quality of life.


The quality of life is very high in Allston, especially looking at the wide variety of businesses and services available to residents.  Of note is a very wide array of restaurants available to serve virtually any taste to any palate.  From Thai to Japanese, American to Indian, Seafood to Steakhouse, and almost every kind of dessert and sweet sensation the mind could imagine, Allston has it all – especially in the fashionable and quaint Harvard Square area.  There is also no shortage of theater and quality nightlife available on a regular basis.  Several venues offer live entertainment seven days a week year-round.


Young and old will find Allston a great place to call home.  The area is very low-crime and safe in every section.  The school system is excellent from grade school all the way up to college with perhaps the most renowned university of all, Harvard.  The flora and fauna are especially exciting and beautiful in the fall as a maze of colors bursts from the trees and plants.  Well rounded and sophisticated, Allston has everything needed to settle down.
